As we move out of summer into winter things change.Obviously, one of them is the weather. But do you know that our cars are affected also by weather change? It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. In this article we will look at why the weather hurts your cars.
In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries. The main reason is because when it is cold your battery is usually powering a lot more things in your car. So because of that your battery runs a little harder. Your headlights are usually running longer with the shorter days. Plus the heater takes more energy than an air conditioner. So the best thing to do is to make sure your battery is in good condition going into a harsh winter.
During a cold weather frozen fuel lines is another prevalent auto problem. This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service. But this is really prevalent in cities with very cold weather. This happens when you let your car run low on fuel and then the condensation starts. And it would freeze when the weather is cold and would stop the fuel from flowing. The best way to avoid that is to not let your fuel run low in the winter.
Tire pressure would be another one of those cold weather related auto problems.Cold weather can make tires lose their pressure. This would be bad because it can hasten the rate of making the tires go bald.Bald tires is not good especially when the roads are icy or wet.So this is really a serious problem. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.
Those are common problems to cars in the cold. You can prevent some of the problems if you can just do those tips. And if the weather is very cold you do not want to encounter those problems.
